On Saturday the Phillies sent David Buchanan out to the mound for something that most of us could only dream about doing. Standing in for the injured Cliff Lee, Buchanan was brought up to make his Major League debut against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Against a dangerous Dodgers lineup Buchanan went 5 innings giving up just 5 hits, 2 runs and recorded 2 strike outs. Not bad for a MLB debut.
With a strong Dodgers fan base at the game it was not hard to find out where Yasiel Puig is at anytime during warmups. There was a chorus of “Puig” calls from the crowd throughout the ballpark.
After the Puig commotion died down it was David Buchanan’s turn to shine in his debut.
The Phillies bats helped early in the game with a homerun by Chase Utley and RBIs from Ben Revere and Jimmy Rollins, all Buchanan had to do was just play catch with Chooch.
The smile on this guys face says it all
Now back to Puig. Every move this man makes has everyone on edge of their seats.
The majestic bat flip made a unnecessary appearance after the ball just fell a few feet short of a home run, but a error by Marlon Byrd still allowed Puig to record a Triple.
For those of you interested, every photo in this post was taken with the new Nikon D4s. I’ve had many people ask me about the 4s so I figured why not put them all into one post. Enjoy!
